2,3,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde; CAS No.: 126202-23-1; 2,3,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde. PROPERTIES: This trifluoro-substituted aldehyde features molecular formula C?H?F?O with molecular weight 160.09 g/mol. Exists as a liquid. Soluble in non-polar solvents like hexanes and dichloromethane. Boiling point approximately 120-125 C. Exhibits IR absorption for aldehyde group. Thermogravimetric analysis indicates decomposition above 150 C under nitrogen. Store at 2-8 C in sealed containers. May cause severe skin burns and eye damage. APPLICATIONS: As a trifluoro aldehyde, 2,3,5-trifluorobenzaldehyde is used in agrochemical synthesis. The aldehyde group undergoes cyclization to form five-membered heterocycles. Also used in fluorescent probe synthesis, enabling conjugation via Schiff base formation. In materials science, it enhances thermal stability in polyaryl ethers due to fluorine substituents.
